The YOUniversal Application Applies You for 20 Scholarships at Once
By Arkansas NEXT Staff on Monday, September 19, 2011
Add “fill out scholarship applications individually” to the list of hardships your parents faced but you’ve avoided, right alongside “walk to school barefoot and uphill both ways.” A handy website lets you fill out one form and then tells you which of 20 different government-funded scholarships you’re eligible for. Launched by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education in January 2010, YOUniversal also lets you apply for those you’re matched with online. See how spoiled you are?
Even if you’re a freshman, you’ll want to check the website out. Plug in your GPA and test scores and see what you’re currently qualified for. When you’re a senior, you can’t do much to improve your scores and qualify for more money, but as an underclassman, you’ve got plenty of time to position yourself for extra dough. The site will show you what you need to improve upon to score more money by the time you can apply for real in September of your senior year.
